Transforming the human spirit

through the art of movement.

My name is Diana Turner-Forte. I’m a sacred dancer, holistic health practitioner, and writer. My writing explores the intersections between the human form, spirit, and nature; and the possibility of transformation by holding the tension between lived reality, embodied movement practices, and imagination. Over time what has been revealed to me are common threads in my life that reference the interconnection between the mind, body, soul, and the cosmos.

I’m currently available for private and small group classes in holistic embodiment through classical ballet, and Pilates mat work, sacred dance workshops and dance/writing residencies.

After dancing professionally in Canada and throughout the United States I began my teaching career at BalletMet Columbus which evolved into numerous opportunities at Baltimore School for the Arts, as well as teaching in various Artists-in-Schools programs, private dance studios in the Midwest and Southeast, and operating my own dance school, Choreographic Institute of North Carolina. I’m passionate about classical ballet and the sacrality of the human form. Over time, in order to enhance my teaching skills and prepare for my current “calling” I devoted additional years of study to the healing arts, kinesiology, somatic and proprioceptive techniques to support teachers and aspiring young dancers in pursuit of their goals in teaching and dancing. Currently, I teach classical ballet and Pilates Matwork privately and in small groups to empower the learner with an understanding of her specific skill base and strengths and support her as she engages in professional work as an artist and contributor to society. Other persons interested in personal and spiritual development are welcome to inquire, as well.
